Jeffrey R. Unger, MD

 As a patient with type 1 diabetes, Dr. Unger has become a patient advocate who recommends early and aggressive intensification of therapy in all patients afflicted with hyperglycemia. Few family physicians have initiated insulin pumps on over 400 patients and championed the importance of using continuous glucose sensors within the primary care setting. Dr. Unger has published over 160 peer reviewed articles, Medscape publications and book chapters on diabetes, mental illness, and pain management. He has discussed the use of incretin therapies and insulin initiation on Reach MD satellite radio on multiple occasions. Over the past 6 years, Dr. Unger has spoken internationally on topics linking mental illness with metabolic dysfunction, chronic pain disorders, diabetic neuropathy and ways by which primary care physicians might assist their diabetic patients to successfully achieve their metabolic targets.

Stephen M. Mohaupt, MD

Dr. Stephen Mohaupt has been conducting clinical trials since 2000 and has served as Primary and Sub-Investigator on numerous clinical trials in Phases I through IV and Early Drug Development.  As Chief Principal Investigator and Medical Director Dr. Mohaupt oversees all areas of our inpatient and outpatients studies and is available to consult with Sponsors and Contract Research Organizations regarding any subject safety issues. Dr. Mohaupt previously served as Medical Monitor for Alamo Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Mohaupt is board certified in General, Addiction and Forensic Psychiatry and recently earned a certification from ACRP for Principal Investigator.   

Gilbert J. Martinez, MD

Dr. Gilbert J. Martinez is a Board Certified Family Practioner, a Certified Physician Investigator, and an Attorney certified to practice Law in the state of California.  His scope of Family Practice includes Geriatrics, Industrial Medicine, Adolescent Medicine and Pediatrics with special interest in Diabetes and Hypertension. Presently he divides his professional practice between Medical Research and Urgent Care Medicine.  Dr. Martinez has been providing quality care for his patients in the Inland Empire since 1972. As a Certified Physician Investigator he has conducted well over 40 clinical trials in various phases and in indications involving Diabetes, Hypertension, Erectile Dysfunction, Hypercholesterolemia and Pain Management. Dr. Martinez has also been sub-Investigator on mental health studies such as Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder and Alzheimer's Disease and has been certified on numerous psychological rating scales.
